Lucky 13 to compete at Central European Pitch Forum
Thirteen scripts from eight European countries have been selected to take part at the first Fade In - Central European Pitch Forum, to be held in Hungary later this year. The forum is Europe’s only screenplay market that focuses on narrative content without there necessarily being a link between the projects and their producers.
Presided over by Christina Kallas (president of the European Scriptwriters Federation), the jury – whose members include Poland’s Maciej Karpinski and Britain’s Richard Kwietniowski – will award the best script after a second phase at the end of September, during which industry professionals will provide the young nominees with a detailed analysis of their scripts and advice for rewriting.
The 13 scripts will also be presented at the upcoming Pécs International Film Festival (September 30-October 4, 2007) by their authors to a panel of 15 European producers that include Cyriac Auriol (Les Films du requin, France), Bulgaria’s Borislav Chouchkov, Gabriele Kranzelbinder (KGP, Austria), László Kántor (Budapest Filmstúdió, Hungary), Alexander Ris (Mediopolis, Germany) and Karla Stojakova (Axman Production, the Czech Republic).
Before the forum, participants will have the opportunity to prepare their pitches at a two-day workshop supervised by Germany’s Jurgen Wolff and Britain’s Rupert Widdicombe.
The Central European Pitch Forum is organised by Fade In, a group of young Hungarian scriptwriters and the Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary. The objective is to encourage producers to work with experienced scriptwriters, revealing to them new talents.
