film profile], released yesterday as part of the film’s worldwide distribution, took in €2.2m in its first days on 837 Italian screens (according to Cinetel data).
This marks a record box office intake for a Wednesday release, as well as the best first day earnings of the entire Harry Potter series: the penultimate episode, released November 25, 2005, garnered €1.5m on its first day in theatres.
The record of the Warner film directed by UK filmmaker David Yates contributes to the good results of films distributed in this first part of the summer season: from June 1-July 11 admissions increased 24.17% over the same period last year.
