) and Laura Smet, the film produced by Edouard Weil for Rectangle Productions received CNC advances on receipts of €400,000, in addition to €330,000 from Eurimages and co-production funding from Italy’s Urania Pictures (21%).

Co-written by the director and his regular partners Arlette Langmann and Marc Cholodenko, the story is being kept under wraps by the production.

The CNC also allocated €420,000 to French/Swiss/Belgian co-production Home, directed by Meier and starring Isabelle Huppert, Olivier Gourmet, Kacey Mottet, Madeleine Budd and Adelaïde Leroux. This is the director’s first feature for the big screen.

Co-written by Raphaëlle Valbrune and Antoine Jaccoud, Home is about a family who refuses to leave their house in the middle of the isolated countryside, where a motorway under construction is soon about to open.

Produced by French outfit Archipel 35 (45%), Home is being jointly produced by Switzerland’s Box Productions (35%) and Belgium’s Need Productions (20%), with backing from Eurimages (€480,000), France 3 Cinéma, Canal+, the Communauté française de Belgique, RTBF, the Swiss Federal Office of Culture and Swiss television channel TSR.

Diaphana will distribute the title in France, while Memento Films will handle international sales. Filming is set to begin on July 30 in Bulgaria. Cinematography is by Agnès Godard.

(see news), the directorial feature debut by actor Jalil Lespert, starring Benoît Magimel, Lubna Azabal, Sami Bouajila and Bérangère Allaux (€152,000).

Produced by WY Productions , the film received co-production funding from MK2, who will release the title theatrically on October 3. The outfit is also handling world sales.

A sum of €70,000 was allocated to Camila Guzmán Urzúa’s The Sugar Curtain, a documentary on the golden years of the Cuban Revolution as seen by those born and raised there, a disillusioned generation whose values crumbled in 1989. A Berlinale Forum entry earlier this year, the Paraiso Production title opens on October 3 through Epicentre Films.
