The Other Boy in competition at Montreal

A total of 20 German films and co-productions will be shown at the 31st Montreal World Film Festival (August 23-September 3).

Volker Einrauch’s feature film The Other Boy has been invited to screen in Official Competition, as has Claude Miller’s Un secret (France/Germany).

Germany is represented in the short film competition with three titles: L.H.O. by Jan Zabeil, Spielzeugland by Jochen Freydank and Aline Chukwuedo’s Wunderlich Privat.

Mirage by Simon Gross can be seen in the First Films World Competition.

The Focus on World Cinema will present the following feature films: Autopilots by Bastian Günther, Beautiful Bitch by Theo Martin Krieger, The Visible and the Invisible by Rudolf Thome, A Friend of Mine by Sebastian Schipper, Neben der Spur by Detlef Bothe, Prussian Gangsters by Irma-Kinga Stelmach and Bartosz Werner, TRUST. Wohltat by Eicke Bettinga, as well as the co-production Dol: The Valley of Tambourines by Hiner Saleem (Kurdistan/Germany/France). The German film Zelle by Bijan Benjamin will be among the section’s shorts.

Stephan Anspichler's Egoïste - Lotti Latrous (Germany/Switzerland), Full Metal Village by Sung-Hyung Cho and Igor Heitzmann’s Nach der Musik were selected for the competitive section Documentaries of the World.

by Dani Levy and the Hungarian/German co-production Opium – Diary of a Madman by Janos Szasz will be screened out of competition in the World Greats sidebar.
