Tonderai begins debut Hush

Former BBC DJ Mark Tonderai has begun a five-week shoot in Yorkshire and the East Midlands for his directorial debut Hush. The psychological thriller that has shades of Duel stars William Ash and Christine Bottomley as a couple who narrowly avoid a motorway accident with a trucker who then begins chasing them.

Tonderai is best known for co-writing and starring in the dog abduction comedy Dog Eat Dog. Other cast members include Andreas Winsniewski, Claire Keelan and Stuart McQuarrie.

Sheffield based digital Film studio Warp X is producing the under £1 million film along with FearFactory and Tonderai and Zoe Stewart’s production company Shona Productions. Warp X is currently in post production on Olly Blackburn’s Donkey Punch where a yacht party goes horribly wrong and Chris Waitt’s documentary Complete History.

Warp X enjoys the backing of the UK Film Council’s New Cinema Fund, Film4, Optimum Releasing, East Midlands Media and Screen Yorkshire. Optimum will distribute Hush theatrically in the UK while Pathe is handling international sales.
