The Fondation Suisa, Swiss Society for Author’s Rights of Musical Works, has awarded its Film Music Prize to Swiss composer Peter Scherer for the original score of the fantastic thriller Marmorera by Swiss director Markus Fischer.

A graduate of the Basel Conservatory, Scherer trained in instrumental and electronic composition in Hamburg, Oakland and New York before going on to write for dance, opera and cinema.

The composer has scored for Swiss productions, such as Alberto Venzago’s Voodoo: Mounted by the Gods, Andreas Hoessli’s Epoca and One Bullet Left, his first collaboration with Fischer, which won him the Golden Rose Award in 2004.
