Seven films vying for German Oscar nomination

German Films is organising the selection process for the naming of the German entry for the 80th Oscar Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

A total of seven German feature film productions were registered by German producers with German Films. After viewing the titles, a nine-person independent expert jury with representatives from the most important associations of the local film industry will decide which will be submitted to the Oscars for Germany.

The results will be announced by German Films on September 18 and must be submitted to the Academy in Los Angeles by no later than October 1.

The names of the selection jury have been published at www.german-films.de, German Films and the Academy Awards.
