FFF goes (more) international
by Annika Pham
The Finnish Film Foundation (FFF) has appointed its current production consultant Petri Kemppinen to head of International Affairs and Development and Jaana Puskala as permanent head of International Promotion.
FFF Director Irina Krohn said: “Petri’s new position is totally new, but the idea to strengthen the international appeal of Finnish films has been part of the FFF’s strategy for a while. So far, Finnish cinema is known abroad mostly because of Aki Kaurismäki and arthouse films, but we want to make different types of films that could travel. We hope that Petri will be working closely with Finnish producers from the script stage to make sure new possibilities are given to Finnish films”.
Kempinen will take on his new position on November 1, 2007.
