Nordisk Film has just acquired 50% of S/S Fladen, co-owned by producer Patrick Ryborn and successful Swedish directing-screenwriting duo Hannes Holm and Måns Herngren (Adam & Eva).

S/S Fladen has produced five feature films since 1998, including Shit Happens (2000), Bombay Dreams (2004) and this year’s hit Wonderful and Loved by All by Holm, currently number 10 in the Swedish box office chart with over 186,000 admissions in eight weeks. Nordisk in Denmark is already in charge of the film’s domestic release and Nordisk Film International Sales of worldwide distribution.

Under the new deal, Nordisk Film will sell S/S Fladen projects internationally and handle Nordic distribution on its upcoming productions, including a new comedy by Herngren, set to start filming in spring 2008.

Commenting on the deal, Ryborn said: “Nordisk Film is a partner for the future, and will provide us with inspiration, safety, and opportunity. One of the most positive effects of the agreement is that we will be able to have more projects in development and make even bigger productions, in the Nordic countries as well as globally.”

Michael Ritto, managing director of Nordisk Film, added: “Close relations in the local movie production environment in all the Nordic countries are of great importance to Nordisk Film and we are very happy with the new agreement. S/S Fladen is one of Sweden’s most successful production companies with strong creative talent, so we expect a lot from our future collaboration.”

Nordisk Film already has strong ties with Swedish production houses Tre Vänner, Illusion Film, Hepp Film and Bob Film.
