Grzegorz Pacek’s Wednesday, Thursday Morning is one of the titles in official competition at the 48th Thessaloniki Film Festival (November 16-25), currently underway.

Wednesday, Thursday Morning is the first feature written and directed by Pacek, better known for his television films and work as an assistant to Krzysztof Zanussi (The Supplement).

The screenplay, based on a true story, unfolds over 24 hours, on August 1, the anniversary of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising. On that day, two young people (PawelTomaszewski and Joanna Kulig – Best Young Actress Award at Gdynia 2007), lost and alone, are looking for happiness and their way in life.

) is by far the most impressive aesthetic component of the film.

The film was produced by Wytwórnia Filmowa Czolówka and co-produced by Studio Filmowe Tor, Wytwórnia Filmów Dokumentalnych i Fabularnych in Warsaw.

Fundacja Film Polski is set to distribute the film domestically in February 2008.
