by

Around 15 recent films are vying for the Golden Frog Award – the main prize at the 15th edition of CAMERIMAGE (November 24-December 1), the festival dedicated to the art of cinematography and held in Lodz, a city famous for its film school.

The prestigious jury of the official competition is presided by Brett Ratner and comprises Piotr Dumala, Pawel Edelman, Robbie Greenberg, Lawrence Grobel, Lilly Kilvert, Pierre Lhomme, Karl Walter Lindenlaub and Oliver Stapleton.

The other competitive sections of the festival include the Polish Cinema Competition, whose line-up features eight recent films. This year also sees the festival’s first competition devoted to documentary film.

European cinema is the focus of two special sections: the Benelux Cinema Review (30 titles) and the European Cinema Review (20 titles).

Finally, the Student Film Competition is paying tribute to the recently deceased renowned Hungarian DoP Laszlo Kovacs by naming its new award after him: the Laszlo Kovacs Student Award – Golden Tadpole.

Eager, as always, to encourage meetings and exchanges between experienced industry professionals, the festival has invited several DoPs, directors and editors who will take part in the different seminars and workshops scheduled for the busy week ahead.
