Cap’Ciné sets up shop in Freiburg
Cap’Ciné Freiburg SA, the Swiss division of French group Cap’Cinéma, has opened a new 1,900-seat, ten-screen multiplex in Freiburg.
The project was initiated by businessman Jean-Luc Nordmann, president of Nordmann Freiburg Holding (Manor chain of department stores), and the newly-opened multiplex now ranks as the third largest cinema in the country.
The company expects to garner at least 350,000 admissions per year, whereas the network’s seven other firmly-established cinemas report a yearly average of 280,000 admissions.
Founded in 2003, Cap’Cinéma has a network of multiplexes across France (in Blois, Périgueux, Saint-Quentin, Beaune, Montauban, Carcassonne and Agen) each with between six and 11 screens. The company plans to develop a network in Switzerland.
