, In the Mood for Love).

Doyle’s Warsaw production marks his second directorial effort, after making Away With Words (1999) and one of the shorts for the project Paris, je t'aime (2006). For Warsaw Dark, Doyle has entrusted the photography to Rain Li with whom he worked on the set of Porte de Choisy for Paris je t'aime.

Warsaw Dark is a political thriller based on the true story of government minister Jacek Debski’s mysterious murder in 2001.

The action begins in Warsaw at night, in a restaurant by the river. Ojka, a young call-girl runs off towards the car-park. Enticed and attracted by the woman, the Minister follows her. He has no idea that he has been tricked and is about to die.

Doyle’s film reveals a world in which business and politics are intertwined and in which the rules of the game are always corrupt. A turbulent love affair is played out against this backdrop.

The mainly Polish cast includes stars Anna Przybylska, Jan Frycz, Adam Ferency, Lukasz Simlat and Leslaw Zurek.

The film is produced by Ozumi Films with the support of the PISF (Polish Film Institute) and will be distributed domestically by Monolith Films.

The world premiere will be at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, and the film is set for domestic release in October 2008.
