International Digital Film Forum set to start

by

Final preparations are underway for the sixth edition of the International Digital Film Forum (IDIFF), which will be held for the first time in Paris, at the Palais des Congrès, from January 30-February 1.

The only European event devoted to digital film, which is now making rapid advances, the industry gathering will bring together the major players in the film sector. Barco, Eclair, Doremi, Christie, Cinemeccanica, Panasonic, Arts Alliance Media, Duran Duboi, XDC, Thomson, Sony and LVT are amongst those expected to attend.

A showcase for new technologies, IDIFF will host various conferences, including "Visualising in advance the final frame during shooting", "Creating and delivering a digital print", "Making 3D films at Disney" and "4K post production". Digital distribution will also be analysed in "Feedback", "Strategies to adopt in 2008" and "What deployment models should be used in France and Europe?".

The programme also includes the Digital Film Market, the market for films intended for theatrical screening; the Workshops "Lighting and make-up for digital cinema", " 3D post production" and "The next-generation theatre"; as well as the second edition of Preparing your shoot and two digital avant-premiere screenings: Notre Univers Impitoyable (“Our Heartless World”) by Léa Fazer and La Jeune Fille et les Loups (“The Young Girl and the Wolves”) by Gilles Legrand.
