Go in Peace Jamil competes in Rotterdam and Göteborg

Go in Peace Jamil, the directorial debut of Danish/Palestinian filmmaker Omar Shargawi, will screen in the main competition programme of two top international film festivals: Rotterdam (January 23-February 3) and Göteborg (January 25-February 4).
Shargawi first worked as still photographer before turning to filmmaking. His feature debut co-scripted with Mogens Rukov (Festen) is set in Copenhagen’s Arabic community and is a story of love, punishment, guilt and redemption.
The film, developed as part of the Danish Film Institute’s New Danish Screen initiative, was produced by Meta Louise Foldager for Zentropa Entertainment with co-financing from TV 1000, Film i Väst and the Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
Nordisk Film is handling domestic distribution and Trust Film Sales international sales.
