Bardem awarded Best Supporting Actor

Spanish actor Javier Bardem won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as a psychotic killer in the US film No Country for Old Men, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen.
This was the 39 year-old actor’s third nomination and first win from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). He was previously nominated for Before Night Falls and The Sea Inside [+see also:

The Golden Globe comes just days after Bardem received the same prize from the New York Film Critics' Circle. It is expected that the Academy Award nomination will follow.
