11 prize-winners at PISF Awards
In Warsaw yesterday evening, the Polish Film Institute (PISF) presented its PISF Awards for the first time.
The awards honour all those who are active in the field of cinema and contribute to the promotion and development of Polish film, both in Poland and abroad.
The nominees were selected by the awards committee that comprised Feliks Falk, Juliusz Machulski, Jerzy Plazewski, Wieslaw Saniewski and PISF director Agnieszka Odorowicz.
The 11 prize-winners at this first edition include Gutek Film – for the Muranów cinema in Warsaw; the Tumult Foundation – for its organisation of the festival dedicated to cinematographers Plus Camerimage; the Cinema Association CineEuropa – for the Summer Cinema Academy in Zwierzyniec (festival); The Society for Arts in Chicago – for the Polish Film Festival in the US; ITI Cinema – for its distribution of Polish films in Poland; and the monthly magazine KINO – for its work in film criticism.
The presentation of the PISF Award statuettes will take place annually.
