Founded in the late `90´s, Luc Besson´ Europa Corp. inaugurates a brand new web-site
Though implicated in a lawsuit following a fatal accident on the set of
Taxxi 2, and in the midst controversy for the conditions he is accused of
imposing on his film crews, Luc Besson is nonetheless one of the most envied
people in international showbiz. Self-taught, Besson has had a dazzling
career studded with huge hits like Nikita, Leon, Jeanne D'Arc, not to
mention the The Fifth Element, the megahit that drew in more than 50
million viewers worldwide.
But the French director has always saved most of
his enthusiasm for producing. With 9 films in production, among them
Michel Vaillant and Fanfan la Tulipe, and a dozen new projects in the
works, Europa Corp. has built a very solid foundation in only a few years.
In 2001, the company did big business, turning over 76.8 million with a
profit of 2.5 million, so big that Besson is seriously thinking of entering
the Stock Exchange.
