Following its screening at the Panorama Section on Saturday, Eran Riklis’ Lemon Tree [+see also:

film profile] has been sold to six territories by Paris-based Films Distribution.

Deals were sealed with Benelux (Cinéart), Switzerland (Agora), Greece (Film Trade), Spain (Golem), Canada (Seville Pictures) and several others are pending, including with the US.

The film tells the story of a Palestinian woman fighting to protect her lemon tree grove against Israeli bureaucracy, which believes the garden poses a threat to the defence minister living next door.
