by

Five Swiss films have been selected at the 26th International Festival of Films on Art in Montreal, which will be held from March 6-16.

Lüber in der Luft – a cinematic portrait by Anna-Lydia Florin of the artist-performer Heinrich Lüber (Freihändler Filmproduktion) – is included in the international competition “Creative crossroads”. Also featured in this section is Markus Raetz – director Iwan Schumacher’s subtle exploration of the guarded private world of the internationally renowned Swiss visual artist.

The remaining films have been selected for the international Panorama “Trajectories”. Titles include Marchand d’art - Ernst Beyeler (“Art Dealer - Ernst Beyeler”) by Thomas Isler and Philippe Piguet – a tribute to the great Basel-born collector of 20th century artworks (Freihändler Filmproduktion).

Other films are Heinz Bütler’s Riviera Cocktail – Edward Quinn, Photographe, Nice (NZZ Film) which takes a look at the stars and celebrities who brought fame to the Côte d’Azur, immortalised by a society photographer; and Journey to Tunis (Fama Film, Zurich), in which director Bruno Moll follows filmmaker Nacer Khemir as he retraces the famous trip made by Swiss painter Paul Klee and his friends across North Africa in 1914.
