Vogel and Prahl as spectacular robbers
Shooting is currently underway in Cologne on Thomas Stiller’s 12 Winter, starring Jürgen Vogel and Axel Prahl.
The film, co-written by the director and Holger Karsten Schmidt, takes its inspiration from a series of sensational robberies that targeted German banks between 1988 and 2001.
Upon their release, two prison mates (Vogel and Prahl) decide to devise the perfect plan to rob a bank. During 12 successive winters (for the darker season is advantageous to robbers), they are the nightmare of small banking establishments.
This film also stars Matthias Koeberlin and Wotan Wilke Möhring.
Shooting on 12 Winter will continue until mid-April.
The title is produced by 20:15 Film- und Fernsehproduktions, in co-production with WDR, ARTE and Degeto, with financial backing from the Nordrhein-Westfalen regional fund. It should be ready for release at the start of next year.
