Temporary Release crowned at Rouen
The 21st Nordic Film Festival in Rouen was certainly a success for Danish actor-director Erik Clausen, whose film Temporary Release [+see also:

film profile] won him the Grand Jury Prize and the Best Actor Award.
Clausen had already scooped double honours in 2005 with his previous film, Villa Paranoia.
Temporary Release was a box office hit last year in Denmark. The title also stars Jesper Asholt, Ditte Gråbøl, Elith Nulle Nykjær and Anders Hove.
Produced by the director’s production company, Clausen Film Aps, the feature – which is sold internationally by Nordisk Film – centres on a prisoner who is allowed to attend his son’s marriage, accompanied by a police officer.
The other major winner at the 2008 edition is the Lithuanian film Whisper of Sin by Algimantas Puipa, which picked up the Best Actress Award (Rasa Samuolyte and Nele Savicenko) and the Deuxième Souffle Award.
The Audience Award went to Wolfsbergen by Dutch director Nanouk Leopold, a feature lauded last year in the Berlinale's Forum section and selected at the Toronto Film Festival (see news).
The Young European Audience Award went to Ilmar Raag’s The Class [+see also:

film profile], which won the Europa Cinemas Label Award at the Karlovy Vary Festival and was Estonia’s hopeful for the 2008 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film (see news).
