Denmark's Knights Templar II wins top award

During last Saturday’s closing night ceremony of the seventh Riga Children International Film Festival, Danish family film The Lost Treasure of the Knights Templar II [+see also:

directed by Giacomo Campeotto won the top award, the Berimor Big Pillow, from a children’s jury.

The film produced by M&M Production was one of last year’s biggest Danish domestic hits, with over 204,000 admissions. The third film part of the Knight Templar series was released mid-March in Denmark and is also set to reach healthy figures (166,000 admissions so far).

Finland’s Mystery of the Wolf [+see also:

, produced by Leila Lyytikäinen and Claes Olsson (Kinoproduction), won the Audience Award, proving the power of attraction for children from around the world of this adventure film set in the wilderness of the Finnish Lapland. The last main award won by the film was at the Cairo International Children´s Film Festival mid-March.

Both Knights Templar II and Mystery of the Wolf are sold by Nordisk Film International Sales.

Two Latvian animated short films had their premiere during the closing night ceremony of the Riga Film Festival: Roze Stiebra’s Did you Say Something? and Evalds Lacis’ New Species.
