Inside Pictures 08 launched

The sixth edition of business training programme Inside Pictures, which comprises three one-week modules, will take place in London and Los Angeles between July and November this year.

Inside Pictures is presented by the Film Business Academy (FBA), organised by Qwerty Films and supported by Skillset and the UK Film Council. Skillset and the UK Film Council as part of A Bigger Future – the UK Film Skills Strategy support the Film Business Academy. The UK Film Council LA office supports the LA module. The programme selects 15 successful applicants who will be exposed to seminars, workshops and studio visits besides getting networking opportunities.

Some of this year’s key speakers include Tim Bevan (Working Title Films), Ed Guiney (Element Films), Andrew MacDonald (DNA Films), Tanya Segatchian (UKFC) and Barnaby Thompson (Ealing Studios).

FBA Director Terry Ilott said, “Inside Pictures has proved itself over the years to be one of the most valuable programmes for the industry leaders of tomorrow. Providing privileged access to leading players in Britain and Hollywood, the programme has been life changing for many of its participants. We expect the 2008 edition, again under the expert management of Qwerty Films, to maintain these high standards.”

Programme Director Julia Short said, “Inside Pictures is able, through the great support of key industry practitioners who give of their time and experience, to deliver a course that not only covers production but marketing and distribution as well as business skills. We believe that through Inside Pictures we will help equip a new generation of producers and executives and hope that this years participants will be inspired by past participants.”

The programme will accept applications until May 9.
