14th edition of FANT underway
The 14th edition of FANT – Bilbao Fantasy Film Festival – one of the most important events for enthusiasts of this genre in Spain – is currently underway (May 8-16).
The official competitive section features nine films, including three European productions. These are Alex Sampayo’s Spanish title El espejo (“The Mirror”), Christoffer Boe’s Danish film Offscreen [+see also:

Other titles include Diary of the Dead, the latest work by legendary director George A. Romero, and Frank Darabont’s The Mist, which opened the festival.
Biscayan composer Fernando Velázquez – who composed the score for The Orphanage [+see also:

film profile] – will receive the Fantrobia Award.
The programme features various other sections and sidebars, including a tribute to the eminent producer Val Lewton.
