Hunger increasers buyers’ appetites

(see the news) by UK artist Steve McQueen has been snatched by a handful of territories at Cannes, including France (MK2), the UK/Ireland (Pathe) and Benelux (Paradiso).

Sold by Icon Entertainment, McQueen’s directorial debut has also sold to Portugal (Lusomundo), Greece (Video Seven) and Icon’s sister company Icon Distribution for Australia/New Zealand. A US deal was pending at mid-market.

“We are delighted at the market support and interest in the film as it is attracting some of the top distributors in the world,” said Ariel Veneziano, president of Icon Entertainment International.

François Ivernel of Pathé added: “It is an honour to be working with Steve McQueen on his incredibly powerful debut feature. The response in Britain and Ireland is already exceptional and we will build on this to bring it to audiences.”
