Curtis to direct
- The screenwriter of Bridget Jones's Diary is going behind the camera for a new romantic comedy called Love Actually, with Hugh Grant and Laura Linney
Acclaimed screenwriter Richard Curtis will make his directorial debut with
the romantic comedy, Love Actually Curtis's screenplay credits include,
Bridget Jones's Diary, Notting Hill and Four Weddings and a
Funeral.
Produced by Working Title, Love Actually will star Hugh Grant, Liam
Neeson, Laura Linney and the young Martine McCutcheon. The producers describe the film as “ten romantic comedies in one”.
Superstar Hugh Grant plays the British Prime Minister who in his first day
in office at Dowing Street, falls in love with the waitress responsible for
preparing tea (Martine McCutcheon).
Shooting will begin in London at the end of September 2002.
