Seven German competition entries at Giffoni

Four German features and three shorts will compete in four of the six competition sections of Italy’s Giffoni International Film Festival (July 18-26), one of the world's most important film events for children's and youth films.

A particular characteristic of the festival is that the sections' juries are composed of children and young people of different age groups, who choose the winner of the festival trophy, the Golden Gryphon.

The section Kidz (for ages 8-11) will show Little King Macius by Sandor Jesse and Lutz Stuetzner while Peter Kahane’s Red Zora by will be presented in First Screens (for ages 12-14).

Apart from the shorts Felix by Andreas Utter and Toyland by Jochen Freydank, the Free to Fly section (also for kids 12-14) will host the feature-length films Heart of Fire [+see also:

by Luigi Falorni and Leroy by Armin Voelckers.

Lastly, Erek Kuehn’s short Shut Up, Butterfly! can be seen in Y Gen (for ages 15-19).
