For the occasion, the filmmakers (award-winners at the latest Cannes Film Festival) will present never-before-seen material from their films at the Filmmakers Villa, the Venice Days headquarters. The section’s delegate general Fabio Ferzetti announced the event to Cineuropa.
Sorrentino, who at made his feature debut at Venice with One Man Up [+see also:
film profile], will show a sequence of Il divo, with a musical accompaniment that was later discarded, thus offering a reflection on the attention he has always placed on the use of soundtracks and sound design in general.
Garrone, who will also be at Venice this year as a producer (of Pranzo di Ferragosto [+see also:
film profile], by his AD and screenwriter Gianni Di Gregorio, selected in Critics’ Week), will instead present the backstage of Gomorrah, with images that for the most part have never been seen.
