film profile] winner of a Teddy Award-Best Film at the last Berlin International Film Festival, was just acquired for US distribution by here!
Regent Releasing will distribute it in selected US cities this fall, starting with New York and Los Angeles on September 26. The deal was brokered by Mark Reinhart, West Coast General Manager & Executive VP Distribution and Acquisitions for Regent, Nate Bolotin from XYZ Films and Stefan Schaefer from Cicala Filmworks on behalf of Olaf de Fleur.
“We are thrilled to be working with such an innovative, emerging talent like Olaf de Fleur Johannesson,” said Reinhart. ’Queen Raquela is refreshing and inspirational in both content and form and we are excited to bring this festival favourite to a broad U.S. audience this fall. The transsexual docu-drama has received over 20 invitations from international film festivals. It will open in Iceland on October 17.
