Gianfranco Rosi’s Below Sea Level crowned top doc

Gianfranco Rosi’s Below Sea Level won the Horizons Doc prize for Best Documentary.

The Italian director’s film – whose screening received a standing ovation – recounts the life stories of a small community who live in the New Mexico desert, without water, electricity, police or government. Rosi followed them for four years in order to discover how they ended up on the margins of society.
