The UK Film Council’s Premiere Fund (UKFC) has awarded £500,000 to director Oliver Parker and producer Barnaby Thompson’s Dorian Gray, an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classic novel A Picture Of Dorian Gray.

The film began shooting earlier this summer at Ealing Studios and London locations and boasts of a British cast led by Ben Barnes, Colin Firth, Rebecca Hall and Ben Chaplin.

The film, written by Toby Finlay, marks the latest collaboration between the BAFTA nominated Parker and Thompson after the recent box office success St. Trinian’s and the Oscar Wilde adaptations The Importance of Being Earnest and An Ideal Husband.
