Local Oscar entry to be announced soon

Organized by German Films, a nine-person, independent expert jury of representatives from the leading associations of the German film industry will choose the German entry for the 81st Academy Oscar competition in the category of Best Foreign Language Film from a shortlist of five films.
The shortlist of films is as follows:
Der Baader Meinhof Komplex by Uli Edel (Constantin Film Produktion, Munich)
Dr. Aleman by Tom Schreiber (2 Pilots Filmproduktion, Cologne)

German Films will announce the results on September 16 and forward the winning entry to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles by no later than October 1.
