The film tells the story of a couple – Manu and Jakob – whose calling is to help people in exchange for money. But their system proves to be flawed and Jakob finds himself playing the role of the dead son for one family.

Zarte Parasiten is produced by Cologne-based RheinFilm and commissioned by West German radio-television network Westdeutschen Rundfunk as part of an agreement for the co-financing of six titles by WDR and the regional fund.

The shoot – which will take place in Cologne, Bonn and Umgebung – will wrap up on October 21. The film is set to be released domestically in autumn 2009.
