Presented in international competition at the Cinéma du Réel Documentary Film Festival in Paris in March, Glorious Exit (Amka Films Productions) by Swiss director Kevin Merz has won the Grand Prize for Best Documentary at the 13th Ourense International Film Festival, in Galicia (Spain).

The film follows the director’s half-brother – a Swiss-Nigerian actor based in Los Angeles – who goes to Africa following the death of his father (a doctor in Lagos). As the elder son, the actor is morally obliged to fulfil his role as head of the family and organise a grandiose funeral, which leaves him bereft of all his money.
