Just Temptation offers financing for original soundtracks

by

Berlin-based music service provider Just Temptation announced that the company and its financial partners are looking for feature film projects to invest in original soundtracks.

“We are aware of the fact that film producers often lack the budget for film music and hence miss the film marketing opportunities based on a soundtrack. At the same time original soundtracks can generate considerable revenues if well elaborated,” says CEO Thierry Baujard.

The company’s strategy is to provide financing for original soundtrack production and supervision for shares in publishing and master rights attached to the soundtrack. “Music as a soundtrack generates cash flow every time a film is broadcast on TV and every time the film is reproduced on DVD which gives us a guaranteed minimum return on every investment we make,” adds Baujard.

Yet since this revenue is not sufficient to cover investment in original soundtracks, the company is looking to multiply soundtrack-related revenues.

“Our aim is to create and develop a marketing campaign for every soundtrack we finance, looking at the whole range of communication channels and platforms: MP3, CDs, ring tones, concerts, mobile applications or Internet. Soundtracks have to be everywhere,” concludes Baujard.

The selection of the projects Just Temptation co-finances is made according to a range of criteria that ranges from a film’s commercial potential to how important the music is in telling the story.

For its first round of financing the company will collect and analyze feature film projects until January 2009.
