Management restructured at BBC Films

BBC Films’ Commercial Affairs and General Manager Jane Wright, is being moved into an editorial role as General Manager and Executive Producer. While she will continue to chair the BBC Films Editorial Board and supervise the marketing activity within BBC Films, she will also develop her own slate of projects.

All four Board members – Wright, Christine Langan (Commissioning Editor, BBC Films), Jamie Laurenson (Executive Producer, BBC Films), Joe Oppenheimer (Executive Producer, BBC Films) – will continue to report to the BBC Controller of Fiction, Jane Tranter.

Due to this restructuring, Isabel Begg has been appointed Senior Commercial and Business Affairs Executive across BBC Fiction and will have responsibility for all business affairs and commercial dealings for BBC Films. She will report to Claire Evans, Head of Operations and Business Affairs for Fiction.

Tranter said, “I am delighted that Jane is becoming a full time member of the BBC Films editorial team. Her impressive experience of British film and her creative flair will be a great asset to the department. Meanwhile Isabel can provide an invaluable over-arching focus for the commercial aspects of the division.”

Evans said, “Isabel has been a huge asset to BBC Fiction in its first 18 months of operation and is well respected across the industry so I am delighted she is taking on this broader role.”
