- Karlsson pa taket, based on a popular children’s novel by Astrid Lindgren is out in Norway and Sweden on 27 September

Karlsson pa taket (Karlsson on the roof), Sweden’s most costly and technically complex children’s animated feature is being released day-and-date onto 71 Norwegian and 102 Swedish screens on 27 September, the biggest distribution ever seen in Scandinavia.
The film is based on an extremely popular children’s by Astrid Lindgren and was directed by Vibeke Idsoe, who also co-produced this movie with John M. Jacopsen at Filmkameratene and the Swedish Filmindustri’s, Waldemar Bergendahl who worked closely with the late Lindgren on 28 projects. Unfortunately Astrid Lindgren died earlier this year at the age of 90 and never saw Karlsson pa taket. Another of Lindgren’s creations, “Pippi Langstrom” was made into a Swedish-Canadian animated film in 1997. Karlsson pa taket took Vibeke Idsoe 4 years to make, she is now working on Solan and Ludvig in Italy, a 3D animated feature.
