Francophone producers join forces

by

Swiss producer Pierre-André Thiébaud (PCT Film and Television, Martigny and Geneva), French producer Isabelle Mathy (Pétrouchka France), and Belgium’s Isabelle Truc (Iota Production) and Denis Delcampe (Need Productions) have joined forces to create Paris-based company Perspective Films.

Mathy has previously produced one feature film and around 15 shorts and Truc has around 30 documentaries to her name. Delcampe has produced six features and ten or so documentaries, while Thiébaud’s filmography includes around 50 features and documentaries.

Their aim is to extend their activities across Francophone Europe, overcoming the difficulty of getting a foothold in France. Thiébaud explained: “Very often, co-productions are not a priority for French professionals”.

The new company has no shortage of projects. The documentary Godefroid de Bouillon, by Philippe Martin and Nathalie Fritz, is currently in production, as are Vanja d’Alcantara’s feature Les steppes (“The Steppes”) and Jérôme Lemaire’s documentary Du thé ou de l’électricité (“Tea Or Electricity”).

Around ten feature film and documentary projects are also in development.
