Five festivals launch Doc Alliance
March 1 sees the launch of Doc Alliance, a new online video-on-demand portal for feature-length documentaries, which can be found at www.docalliancefilms.com.
Five leading European documentary film festivals have joined forces to bring this project to fruition: Visions du Réel (Switzerland), CPH:DOX (Denmark), DOK Leipzig (Germany), IDFF Jihlava (Czech Republic) and Planet Doc Review - Warsaw (Poland).
The portal’s founders said: "The aim of Doc Alliance is to foster the diversity of feature-length documentaries and show viewers the fascinating, moving and informative aspects of cinema of the real […]. Doc Alliance comes about from the need to find a new way to promote exceptional films in a market that is generally not very receptive to their circulation and marketing".
Doc Alliance offers permanent access to 250 documentaries selected by the five partner festivals and 20 new titles will be added every month. The works can be downloaded or viewed in streaming.
