TorinoFilmLab presents selected 2009 projects

by

After a successful first edition in 2008, the TorinoFilmLab (the first Italian workshop dedicated to training, development and funding for first and second films) has announced the selected 2009 projects.

Twenty screenwriters and five story editors from throughout the world were chosen for the Training Programme, in partnership with Script&Pitch Workshops (for the complete list, download file). There are two preceding labs before the final Meeting Event (which will take place in November during the Turin Film Festival): at the Alba International Film Festival (March) and in Brignogan, France (June). The top six projects will go on to be part of the 2010 Development Programme.

Twelve directors (six men and six women) have been chosen for this year’s Development Programme (for the complete list, download file), all of whom are vying for the Production Awards given by the Advisory Board of the TorinoFilmLab. While most of the projects are feature debuts, several are second films by directors who have already garnered acclaim at international festivals (including France’s Laurent de Bartillat and the UK’s Duane Hopkins).

The TorinoFilmLab is promoted by the National Film Museum and the Turin Piedmont Film Commission, with support from the Ministry of Culture, the Piedmont Region and the City of Turin.
