Sass travels to Japan

- Set in Berlin in the 1920s, this tale of two notorious German gangsters is to represent Germany in the competitive section of the 15th Tokyo Film Festival

Sass by Carlo Rola will be screened in competition at the 15th Tokyo Film Festival (26/10-3/11). Sass is set in Berlin’s notorious underworld of the 1920s is the story of two gangster brothers, and was first screened in the German Cinema section of the 2002 Berlinale and also during EuropaCinema 2002 in Viareggio underworld of gangsters. The film’s director of photography, Martin Langer, won a Bavarian Film Award earlier this year.
Tokyo is one of the world’s leading film annual events and is organised by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations - FIAPF. One of its main goals is to encourage and support young filmmakers and its main award, the Tokyo Grand Prix consists in Euros84,000.
Another recent German film, Knallharte Jungs, a comedy directed by Ganz Henman was selected for the Tokyo Fantastic Film Festival that runs 25/10-1/11.
