- Lincoln Film Society hosts a week-long review of contemporary Swedish films - 1-7 November

The Swedish Film Institute and the Lincoln Film Society have organised a week-long review of Swedish films that will run from 1-7 November 2002 in New York. The review, entitled New Faces of Swedish Cinema, will showcase seven recent feature films including major Swedish box office hits like Josef Fares’ Jalla!Jalla! and Susan Taslimi’s All Hell Let Loose. Both of which are about immigration and its effects on contemporary Swedish society, a popular theme with filmmakers.
The programme also includes the screening of The New Country, a made-for-TV mini-series about an Iranian and a Somali’s journey round Sweden that was directed by Geir Hansteen Jorgensen and co-written by Lukas Moodysson
