50 films to celebrate "Positif"

- From 16 October the famous French film magazine celebrates its 50th anniversary with the masterpieces of European cinema

The Forum des Images of Paris will begin celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the famous film publication, “Positif”, edited by Michel Ciment from 16 October until 3 November, with the screening of fifty classic films. “Positif” is a world-class reference point for the film criticism. The programme reflects all the film world’s most significant styles and filmmakers, from Bunuel to Visconti, with Boorman, Tati, Wajda, Antonioni, Rosi, Delvaux, Losey, Tarkovski, Bergman, Wenders and Angelopoulos.
It also includes some rarely-seen features such as Alain Resnais’ La Guerre è finie and Casanova, an adolescent in Venice by Luigi Comencini. Filmmakers who have promised to take part and meet with the public include Agnès Varda, Nico Papatakis, Bertrand Tavernier, Raul Ruiz, Mike Leigh and Cedric Kahn.
