- For nine days Amsterdam will be home to theh 16th edition of this important children's film festival which will showcase the very best recent international productions

The 16th edition of the Cinekid international children’s film festival is scheduled to run in Amsterdam until 20 October. The event opened on 12 October with the screening of Pieter Kramer’s musical comedy entitled Ja Zuster Nee Zuster, based on a popular Dutch TV series of the 1960s. A total of 16Cinekid Film Award and the titles include Harley Cokeliss’ An Angel for May (UK), Hans Fabian Wullenweber’s Kraak ! (Denmark), Morten Køhlert’s Little Big Girl (Denmark), Enzo D'Alò’s Momo (Italy), Katalin Gödrös’ Mutanten (Germany),Peter Flinth’s Olsen Gang Junior (Denmark), Lars Berg’s Scars (Norway), Dany Deprez’s Science Fiction (Belgium), Eddie Thomas Petersen’s Tsatsiki 2 (Sweden) and Thierry Schiel’s Tristan et Iseult (Luxembourg).
For the third consecutive year, a sidebar ScreeningClub market is also taking place where film and TV industry operators can see films, TV programmes and interactive games in the CD-Rom format and take part in debates about issues specific to the children’s film sector.
