An as-yet untitled feature film about the tumultuous and ultimately tragic love affair between American poet Sylvia Plath and British Poet Laureate Ted Hughes, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Daniel Craig (Road to Perdition), begins shooting tomorrow (18 October).
Directed by Christine Jeffs (Rain) and produced by Alison Owen (Elizabeth), this film will reunite a prestigious creative team of artists that includes production designer Maria Djurkovic (Billy Elliot), Oscar-winning costume designer Sandy Powell (Shakespeare in Love, Gangs of New York) and Oscar-nominated editor, Tariq Anwar (American Beauty).
The Plath-Hughes project will be made over an eight-week period on location in the UK followed by two weeks in the director’s native New Zealand.
Capitol Films are handling international sales and Universal Focus will release the movie in the US.
