is the story about a professor, who opposes capital punishment, and who is falsely accused of murdering a fellow activist and is sent to death row.
The film was presented at the 2003 Berlin International Film Festival, where during the press conference the director Alan Parker and the actors were interviewed.
Laura Linney and Kevin Spacey both explain that although having firm opinions about the subject, they hope the audience will follow the characters instead of concentrating on their political views.
The director Alan Parker explains that in order to make the film, through which he delivers a strong anti-capital punishment message, he researched on facts and statistics. He followed in fact individual groups, with the possibility of listening to opposing views.
