A model and graduate of the Maastricht Theatre Academy, Sylvia Hoeks (Maarheeze, 1983) made her national breakthrough with Jos Stelling's Duska (2007) for which she won a Best Supporting Actress Golden Calf at the annual Dutch Film Festival in Utrecht. Two years after graduation, Sylvia was cast in her first lead role in Ben Sombogaart's The Storm [+see also:
