The Official Selection will be unveiled on June 30 at the 48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

The 16 members of the LUX Prize 2013 Selection Panel, appointed by the Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament and renewed for one third each year, are key figures of European cinema.

The Selection Panel has already convened on March and April in the European Parliament (watch the video) to discuss and exchange views on the films proposed. The decision process is based on consensus.

The 10 films of the 2013 LUX Prize Official Selection will then be further whittled down to 3  to be unveiled at the Venise Days Press Conference on 23 July. The 3 Films of the Competition will compete for the prize and be screened in the Parliament and in the 28 Member States of the EU in the second edition of the LUX FILM DAYS.  The LUX Prize 2013 Award Ceremony is scheduled for December.
