Roar Uthaug, whose filmography includes Magic Silver and Escape is one of the TEN EUROPEAN DIRECTORS TO WATCH at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival
Born in 1973 in Lørenskog, Norway, Roar Uthaug made his first film, The Axe Killer, in eighth grade. He made films through out his teens, continuously honing his skills. After this early start as a filmmaker, Uthaug also educated himself formally in the art he knew he wanted to make a career in. He graduated from the Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer, where his graduation film, The Martin Administration, was nominated by the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences for the Student Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Student Film. He directed commercials and music videos before making his feature debut with the immensely successful horror film Cold Prey [+see also:
